HOW DID WE GET WHERE WE ARE TODAY?
1. The typical American runs their finances just like the US government! Our government regularly spends more money than they take in, the normal American sees this and simply emulates that behavior.
I worked in Retail Sales and Finance for many years and would estimate that 80% of the people that I worked financing deals for to purchase products on installment plans had no idea how to manage money. When consumers were confronted with the fact that they could not afford or obtain credit, they could not comprehend this. Invariably most would desperately continue to try to buy something that they wanted. I saw many people that went from car dealer to car dealer trying to buy a car (any car), until they found someone desperate enough to sell them a car. Many people would have 10, 15 or more hits on their credit report within a single weekend; one from every car dealer within 50 miles. They were not smart enough to figure out that they COULD NOT afford a new car! The solution of our Government is to “increase the money supply” by raising taxes, borrowing money or printing more money. The average American consumer has no way to raise taxes or print money, so they resort to the only avenue left open, they borrow money.
RULE # 1 - YOU CANNOT “BORROW” YOURSELF OUT OF DEBT!
2. There is a serious lack of Accountability or Personal Responsibility in America today.
Politicians are caught in bald-faced lies and their highly paid staff immediately starts to “spin” the story until there is no resemblance left to the truth. The recent situation with Mrs. Clinton brings this story into sharp focus. Clinton LIED about her trip to Bosnia, where she claims to have been “sniped”! Clinton and other politicos lie without any regret and expect regular people to swallow the “Well, I’m human . . . I miss-spoke” excuse without question? If I told this same tale, it would be a lie, when Clinton tells it, she “miss-spoke”!
RULE # 2 – A LIE IS A LIE!
3. Political Correctness is out of control.
A black preacher stands in front of a crowd of people in a church and curses “His” country. He attacks Jews and whites, and is praised as a “great leader” in the “BLACK COMMUNITY”! A comedian or rapper talks or "raps" about women as “bitches” and “hoes” and makes Millions! Let a white man even use the “N” word in a sentence or attempt to question something that a black person does, they are immediately censored, vilified as a "Racist" or crucified! Why is it “funny” for a black man to call a white person a “cracker” or a "honkey m.f." and in the same breath, viciously attack if a white person should ever use “n****r” to describe a black man? I was censored when I wrote the "n" word in the previous sentence, regardless of the context, the word is not allowed. What about "honkey", "spic", "kike", "dego, "wop" or "Uncle Tom"? (The previous sentence WAS NOT censored in spite of "offensive to someone" words being typed in the sentence!) What about my sensibilities! Why is should it be less of an insult to a white man to be called a honkey or a cracker?
RULE # 3 – RACISM IS RACISM, RACISM IS NOT UNI-DIRECTIONAL!
4. Americans want to be paid top dollar for their work, but continue to buy everything at “Low, Low Wal-Mart Prices”.
A union factory worker strikes for better wages and benefits. Each one makes $20-$40 per hour plus benefits. My dad worked in a UNION SHOP for 22 years and all I learned about unions came from the unions themselves. The Unions finally were able to drive his company out of business after 22 years of trying. Yes, Dad made a good wage and had a benefit package; he just did not have a place to work! It is funny, the plant that opened up as a replacement (in the Southern US) paid higher wages than what my dad made, they just did not have the constant threat of strikes and the union forcing the company to keep every lazy, deadbeat, worker (they were union members too) on the payroll. The Union man makes top dollar and has all the benefits; then he goes to a retailer to buy some product that he needs. For some reason he feels that it is his “right” to chisel the seller down on their price, like the RETAILER and his Employees somehow do not have a right to the same wage to which the union man is entitled!
RULE # 4 a – TO KEEP JOBS IN THE USA, CONSUMERS ARE GOING TO HAVE TO ACCEPT HIGHER PRICES ON GOODS AND SERVICES PRODUCED IN THE USA AS WELL AS BUY THEM IN PREFERENCE TO OTHER MUCH CHEAPER GOODS!
RULE # 4 b - PROFIT IS NOT A DIRTY WORD!
5. The “Mexicans” are “taking” all of our jobs.
No, the MEXICANS are NOT taking all of “OUR” jobs; they are taking those jobs that must be done and that no one else will do!
These jobs are the “S**t” jobs as some of my friends like to say. Americans have come to think that they should start at the top and progress from there! American kids want a paycheck without any effort. Work is not taught to Americans anymore!
When I started work at McDonalds, I knew how to make change and count money. Want a good laugh? Order some food at any fast food restaurant, pay your $6.08 bill by handing the cashier a twenty-dollar bill, a one-dollar bill, a nickel and three pennies. If their computer does not calculate the change, they usually cannot make change at all! When I worked at Mickey D’s we NEVER stood around with nothing to do! We were taught that if we were not working with a customer, we were cleaning! Go into a McDonalds today and count the people standing around DOING NOTHING, making $8.00 per hour! This is not just an isolated situation; I see this everywhere I go.
There is no “Work Ethic” for the vast majority of Americans. During High School I was in Auto Mechanics, this was considered “Second Rate” by teachers, because you “had to go to college” to get a good job! Today, a qualified Auto Technician can make $100K per year and is an “IN DEMAND” skill, yet people still see this as a second rate occupation! A GOOD “mechanic” is much harder to find than a Doctor! This is why “Our Jobs” are being filled by the “Mexicans”; Natural born Americans will not work or they see most jobs as “beneath” them!
RULE # 5 – LEARN A SKILL OR TRADE. LEARN TO WORK, AND TO MAKE YOURSELF INVALUABLE AS AN EMPLOYEE! TRAIN YOURSELF TO WORK; YOUR TEACHERS ARE NOT GOING TO DO IT FOR YOU!
6. The Rich People and Big Corporations need to pay more taxes! We need to raise taxes on the Rich and lower taxes on the Poor!
This is the FANTASY that the Liberals want you to buy! The faceless hoards of the Middle class (i.e. “Rich”) people and “Corporations” provide almost all of the jobs in the USA because entrepreneurs would be classed as “rich” by those who despise profit and monetary advancement. Why do we tax most heavily the only part of the economy that creates productive jobs?
RULE # 6 ALL INCOME TAXES ARE REGRESSIVE, BUT NONE AS REGRESSIVE AS THOSE LEVIED ON THE VERY PEOPLE AND COMPANIES THAT PROVIDE THE JOBS FOR EVERYONE!
7. Government needs to DO more for the poor people!
What a load of Horse Manure! Government has been “doing more” for the poor since 1965 and the poor keep getting poorer! We are raising our 4th and 5th generation of welfare recipient in this country. These people have lived off the public dole for damn near 50 years. They are typically uneducated, unskilled and non-productive members of our modern society. Many of these people cannot read, write or form an intelligible thought. They stand attached to the “teat” of the welfare state! Look at what happened in New Orleans after Katrina. Many of the people of New Orleans demonstrated no direction, no ability to think or reason for themselves and a total lack of personal discipline. All they could finally do is run to a public place and wait for a handout or a rescue that never comes. They all knew that most of the city is below sea level and that the storm was on the way yet they waited until it was too late to get out. The MAYOR of New Orleans knew about the tens of thousands of “poor”, their plight, the vulnerability of their neighborhoods and homes and their inability to escape the impending disaster. Hundreds of school busses were flooded out by Katrina, instead of being mobilized by the CITY of New Orleans in the days preceding Katrina to evacuate the People of New Orleans who had no other way out! After the Democratic Mayor Nagin and the Democratic Governor of Louisiana both dropped the ball on Katrina and failed to ASK for Federal help, President Bush took the blame for the lack of action by the overwhelmingly Democratic City and State government. Yes, there were problems with FEMA, but the problems started with the lack of planning by local and state officials! Before you start screaming what a terrible racist S.O.B. I am, please understand I am not singling out on the BLACKS in New Orleans, there are plenty of ALL races in this group! New Orleans just happens to be a predominantly black city run by a predominantly black administration. Let the chips fall where they may!
RULE # 7 – GOVERNMENT CANNOT “RESCUE” THE POOR FROM THEIR PLIGHT!
8. Government needs to “give” us this or that (whatever seems a priority at the time).
Government cannot “GIVE” us anything! Government can only take our money, rights and freedoms, property or anything else that their greedy hands touch. This is why the South fought the Civil War, for states’ rights and individual freedoms. I believe that the Southern “cause” was just and the motivation for that cause was “just as wrong”! The South wanted to use states rights and the “law” to deprive others (specifically, blacks) of freedom. The error of the South in using the “states rights” issue to determine and to perpetuate slavery does not weaken the doctrine of “states’ rights”.
RULE # 8 – NOTHING THAT WE HAVE IS “GIVEN” TO US BY GOVERNMENT, OUR SUCCESS OR FAILURE AS A NATION IS THE RESULT OF OUR COLLECTIVE CONTRIBUTIONS AND EFFORTS (OR LACK THEREOF) AS CITIZENS AND TAXPAYERS; AND NOTHING ELSE!
9. We need more government oversight and regulation to protect us from the evil corporations.
NO! The government is way outside their constitutional mandate as it is right now. We have abdicated our rights as free citizens and as separate states in the United States. The Federal government is tasked to do very few things under the framework of the original Constitution of the United States and the Bill of Rights. The “government” has weaseled into every nook and cranny of our lives through legislation and executive orders over the past 230 so years.
RULE # 9 – ADDITIONAL GOVERNMENT REGULATION CAN ONLY SERVE TO STRIP MORE OF OUR PERSONAL FREEDOM AND ADD ANOTHER LAYER OF DEAD WOOD TO THE GOVERNMENT BUREAUCRACY!
10. "Push "1" for instructions in English, Push "2" for instructions in Spanish"
NO WAY, NO HOW!!! This is the United States of America. Learn to SPEAK English! If you cannot speak English, GET OUT! If you cannot speak English, you cannot get a green card. If you cannot speak English, you cannot become a citizen!
If I go to Mexico, should I expect them to speak English? No, why should the USA be any different?
I am not saying ANYONE that enters the USA must completely master the English language, just that it should be required to use English as the primary language of commerce.
One of the most rude things that I have experienced was when I am in a store and two people are carrying on a conversation in English and when I approach, they suddenly switch to their "native" language. It is as if they are afraid that I will hear something that they do not want me to hear.
RULE # 10 - NO, I DO NOT SPEAK SPANISH AND I DO NOT CARE TO LEARN. (BY THE WAY, UNTIL THE MEXICAN GOVERNMENT REFORMS THEIR SOCIAL SECURITY AND WELFARE SYSTEM, I AM NOT MOVING TO MEXICO TO LIVE.)
